Small Business Owner Goes to Heaven

Small Business Owner Goes to HeavenYes, a small business owner goes to Heaven.

His name is Bob. Let me tell you the story.

Bob was a burned-out small business owner. One night, after another 14-hour day, he got home, took some aspirin, and collapsed into bed.

Suddenly he wakes up face-to-face with a bearded stranger. He reaches for his gun… but it’s not there. Neither is he.

“Don’t be afraid, Bob,” the man says. “I’m Peter. I’m here to take you to Heaven.” Bob’s confused. “Heaven? I don’t think I deserve to go there.” Peter smiles. “You’re right. You don’t. But somebody out there must think you need to see it. So I’m giving you a first-class tour.”

They walk through a huge gate and up to a beautiful building. Bob stops dead in his tracks. The sign says… BOB’S PRINT & MAIL INC.

Inside, the lobby is calm. Peaceful. Every desk is clean. No clutter. No stress. People are working… but they’re smiling.

Bob looks around and says, “This must be heaven.”

Because back on Earth? His office is tense. Customers are calling with complaints. Everyone’s in permanent RUSH mode. Problems never stay fixed.

For the first time, Bob starts asking the real question: Why is it so different here?

Peter moves him into production. The lights are bright. The floors are spotless. Storage cabinets open and every tool is in a labeled bin. Machines are clean and running perfectly. Workflow moves smoothly. Jobs get packaged and shipped on time.

Bob is almost dancing around the room. “How is this possible?”

No clutter. No burned-out light bulbs. No drink cans and crumpled job tickets everywhere. Just a well-oiled machine that doesn’t need him standing over it every second.

He realizes something big: This place runs better without him constantly putting out fires.

As they’re leaving, Bob stops. “I thought I was going to stay here and own this place. My name is on the building!”

Peter looks at him. “You didn’t pay the price to own it. Or even to be here.

To get this kind of heaven, you have to help build it. You have to spend the time organizing, planning, and improving — even when it’s hard. Continual improvement. That’s the price.”

Bob nods. “I get it now. This business isn’t just about me. It’s about my family, my employees, and my customers. It’s my stewardship.”

Then he wakes up.

His wife is shaking him. “Joe called from the office. That big job from yesterday has a problem. They might have to scrap the whole thing.”

And just like that… the mad scramble starts again. Coffee, dry toast, antacids, and back into the chaos.

Here’s the truth: Everyone wants to go to heaven… but nobody wants to die to get there.

Same thing with business. Most small business owners want a clean, organized, profitable company. They just don’t want to pay the price to get it.

That price is committing to a real system. Taking the time to implement business process management the right way — even if it’s uncomfortable at first.

If you’re willing to do that, there’s a permanent fix for the frustration and disorder.

If you’re not… the outcome is usually the same: more chaos, more stress, and eventually… DOA.

Great systems work!

The question is… are you willing to build yours?

If this story hit home, give us a call.

And if you’re ready to stop living in the pigsty and start building your own version of business heaven… let’s talk about how.
