business operation freedomBusiness owners seek business operation freedom, yet remain steeped in chaos!  They continue with the same failed practices, all the while expecting different results. Someone has said, that’s the definition of insanity! At some point, business owners must trust quality control systems to defeat chaos!

True story…

“The Great Blondin” was the most famous tightrope walker of all time!  In 1859 he became the first man to walk across Niagara Falls on a tightrope.

Blondin later planned to attempt crossing the majestic Falls on a tightrope, but this time, pushing a wheelbarrow.

Success Asks A Question

The story goes that, after one of his crossings, Blondin asked the cheering spectators, “Do you believe I can carry a person across in a wheelbarrow?”

“YES,” the audience cheered enthusiastically. “You are the greatest tightrope walker in the world. We believe you can do it!”

Blondin was impressed with the crowd’s faith in his ability, and asked them, “Who wants to get into the wheelbarrow?”

But, the crowd fell silent, and NO ONE volunteered at that time!

Business Operation Freedom is Attainable

In 1994, I read a book by Michael Gerber about organizing a business through systemization.  I mean, to the level of a MacDonalds franchise! I was inspired, to say the least.  At the same time, I had some doubts that is was possible, especially in the printing industry.  Remembering that Blondin story, I was like everyone else who said they believed, but was I willing to ‘get in the wheelbarrow’?

Excuses began to crowd my thoughts, “Our business is complex manufacturing, and MacDonalds just makes hamburgers!” I wondered, “Won’t it take too long to implements systems in my company? What if my employees don’t want to go along with all that? Will I be risking my company if I try something new like that?” But, how could I continue in chaos and expect to ever find business operation freedom?

I continued to work long hours, trying to make things better for me and my employees. But, no matter how hard we tried, it seemed we were going backwards. But, I read about others who tried and successfully made this ride over the abyss of chaos, present in many small businesses. FINALLY, I made the decision to also trust a more systematized way of dealing with it.  I needed to step courageously out and make it happen.

Deciding to “get in the wheelbarrow,” I took that journey to a land free of chaos, and made it!  I even had time to tell about that ride in my own book.

When YOU are ready to ‘get in the wheelbarrow’, give us a call. Systemization is the ultimate step toward freedom in your business!

Did I mention?  Great systems work!
