DOWNLOADING YOUR VISION

In my book System Busters, I went into some detail about owners “downloading” the information they know better than anyone else, about how their business operates. It’s important for an owner to get it out of their head and into a written document (i.e. an Operations Manual or other forms of communications).

The purpose of downloading is...

1. To put the owner’s vision for his company in his own words for clear understanding of how the business should operate.

2. To free up the owner’s time from having to answer the same old questions umpteen times from employees and others.

3. Once it’s company-wide knowledge, you (the owner) can finally dare to take a vacation from it all. 

 

I, along with my staff and others, have been diligently downloading information—out of our heads and into this long-awaited new Site for the last five months.
